Ramble: To talk or write incessantly, unclearly, or incoherently, with many digressions.

So I have been thinking alot about what this blog is for me.. and right now, I feel like it is just a way to "show off" my kids, and while that is great and i am sure the grandmas love it, I feel like i wanted it to be something more than just look at the couple days we have had this last month that were phenomenal.. I have a pretty fantastic life, but everyday is not perfect, not even close. Being a mom is so much harder than I ever imagined it to be! And I really just wanted to write down something more about our family than just the "perfect" days..

For example.. We are still pretty new to our ward up here, and I think Abbey is sort of having a hard time being friends with some girls who have obviously grown up together, I am doing her hair for church and as I finish she is just crying telling me that I can't do her hair like that or her friends will laugh at her! I can handle the crying, and the tantrums, and cleaning up kid messes all day long, but we are just entering into this stage where she is overly aware of what people think of her. And as hard for me as it is some kids wont think she is as perfect and fun as i do.. that's life, and for me its been hard to navigate! I don't ever want her to be afraid of how great she is. I know that is something I have always been scared of, letting people get too close, and that is my greatest fear that I could ever imagine for this beautiful little woman!
I always remember my mom saying that we turned out so good because she just loved us, and nothing else really mattered. I keep telling myself that, and I know that things are going to be different, we won't always be worried about how to do Abbeys hair, or whether or not the girls like her, there will always be "something", but as long as she knows Lane and I love her and her Heavenly Father loves her more than anything in the whole wide world she will be fine, and everything else will fall into place!
She has gotten this crazy separation anxiety, we left the county fair the other night, and she cried all the way home, in the tub, and didn't stop till she was asleep, because she thought that the lemurs that were at the fair needed her help going to bed. I think that turning 4 has changed her life, she has all the sudden no control over her emotions, and i think it is so interesting to watch her try and work through those wild 4 year old emotions. Lane feels like he is on a roller coaster, and where he is a work a majority of the week, he finds these crazy outbursts unbearable:) I do have to say, he is the best dad to girls, he can be so calm and get Abbey especially to just be happy again!!

Lets just talk for a minute about Lucy.. her nickname since she has been able to walk really has been Lucifer (like the cat off of Cinderella) She is in charge. I remember Lane's family talking about how loud he used to talk, and I think I know what it was like, she couldn't whisper if she tried. For example.. while camping we thought she would be so happy to lay in a sleeping bag, and just go to bed (especially cause it was 11:30 and she hadn't had a nap, and she is usually a GREAT sleeper) we were oh so wrong, and she just kept yelling "AWESOME" and rolling over, and poking me in the eyes, and I don't remember how it happened, but she eventually fell asleep on top of me, and I learned that she is DEFINITELY not ready for a "big girl bed." She is the total opposite of Abbey, and as she is getting bigger, my mom brain is just getting tired.. she is the boss, and I am supposed to be the boss.. and it is exhausting. Today in church she wanted to watch Dora, I have some Dora books, but that was unacceptable for Lucy, and she SCRAME for Dora as i quickly walked out of the chapel, I heard a few laughs... and lets be honest, if that would have been someone else, i would have giggled, and been thankful i didn't have to deal with that.. and as i sat in Relief Society all by myself with nothing but my thoughts, I could hear her sweet laugh and loud gruff voice in the nursery room, and couldn't wait to go play with her!
She is also the sweetest thing you have ever met, and that is probably why I am so tired, she can terrorize the house and everyone in it in one minute and the next she is kissing you telling you how fun the zoo was and what the monkeys said and did! She loves babies more than anything, and I am so excited some day for her to be a big sister.
She is going to be the strongest little woman ever created, I see huge things for her. She will take the world over one step at a time. She is never going to take no for an answer, and that comes straight from her Dad, to which i am SO GRATEFUL! I don't know if i will ever be fully ready for the ride I am on with her! I feel so lucky to have her.. she is teaching me more than i ever imagined a 2 year old could teach!

I am so thankful for my kids, life with them is hard, stressful, emotional, and tiring, but it is so fulfilling to see Abbey taking her sisters hand at the park and helping her up the stairs all while telling her not to be scared and that she will take care of her and keep her safe. That is all that matters the relationships that I am creating within my family, and the strong bond that I know will last forever. I want my kids to know how special they are. Through the tears, scratches, and laughter, I feel the strongest love radiating from my heart, and I understand what my mom meant.. I honestly just LOVE these kids!

The summer in Rock Springs has sort of been hard for me, I have really missed our old neighborhood. It probably had alot to do with the fact that we put our house up for sale, and it sold within a month. It was really hard to let go of that house, I am not sure why, but while i was getting it all cleaned up and loading the last of our stuff from the shed, it was so sad. That was something that held us to Monroe, and with that gone, we have become unattached to anything.. it is a weird feeling. I think i am beginning to understand where Abbey gets the separation anxiety from:)
The hardest thing for me to do is put myself out there, and live more in the now and stop wondering where and when we will be going next, I think that until I do that all I am really going to be looking for the next thing, essentially running away. I am tired of that feeling.
We have such a great opportunity here to find some great friends, and for Lane to catapult his Home Depot career, when he looks back at how he got to where he ends up, he will say everything changed for his job up here! He is doing such great things, and really changing what people think can come from a 25 year old kid! Anyone who really knows Lane knows what comes out of him though:)
I have always thought Lane and I were a great couple, we are just the right amount of difference and likeness, but since being up here, it is more true than ever. Thats not to say that some days, i don't want to beat him when he has been at work for 23 hours, and sleeps his entire day off. But when it is all said and done, my life is so great because I have the best family, the love that we have for each other is something that I can't describe.

March

March seemed to fly by, we had Wes come stay with us for a couple days!
The girls loved having someone who didn't care if they climbed all over him for 2 days!
And I loved just having my brother there, I miss him!

Abbey got her first CTR ring in Primary, and kept a really good eye on it for about a week, which in 3 year old time is FOREVER!!

Lucy is queen cookie monster, when we were in Monroe, i am pretty sure she ate 3 dozen cookies between my moms house and my grandmas house!
No one can say no to her.. Good reason right?

We had Sunday morning breakfast with Grandma Peanut and Grandpa Grizzly Bear.. Abbey was in heaven and decided when she gets big she will bring people coffee!

We fingerpainted.. or body painted..
Lucy loved it, and now that we are home, she is constantly bringing me the fingerpaints!

We spent the night at Grandma Cowleys, which was so strange because we have lived by her for almost 5 years, and never slept over! I missed it, but i like living close to them way better than just coming to visit, and I miss them so much more than i could have ever imagined!

The girls miss them too!
My Grandpa kept calling Lucy the "chubby one" and saying things like
"Megan, that chubby one of yours can't talk very good"
and
"Can't she just say yes!"
I have really missed him!

And yes, she is chubby, but she is thinning out a little.. getting taller!!

I adore Venice, and really miss the small towns where you can walk down the middle of the street, and my kids can not have to worry about getting hit, because NO ONE drives through that town!!

Our view on the way home, I really really miss the trees, but am actually starting to really like this scenery! It is really beautiful to me for some reason. Probably a good thing cause there is not a tree to be seen in Rock Springs!

Lane bought an IPad, and Lucy has taken it over, I find her like this ALOT lately!
Lane and I are ditching our kids thanks to my mom in a week and a half, I need a kid break for a couple days, and am MORE THAN EXCITED!!
We are going to Disneyland alone, i don't think we could have picked a better place.
I love going with our kids, but it will be so fun to not have to worry about naps
and hungry grumpy kids and we can do whatever we want..
Now I just have to get our house in some type of order this week!
Wish me luck i will be in some serious need of motivation!

RS Parks

There are a lot of good things about Rock Springs, but my favorite thing so far are the parks, there are tons of them, they are really hard to find but when you find them they look like this!! It is by far the best park we have found!! The girls loved it!! Lucy climbed right up to the very top and slid down the slide all by herself !! Abbey was a little more nervous and I pushed her down the slide a couple times before she actually liked it! Now if only the wind would calm down, that would make walking easier for my kids!!

February

I have decided to do AT LEAST a monthly post!!
I am trying to be better where we are a little farther away!
February seemed to be a really fast month!

Lane went to Atlanta for work for the week of Valentines, so Lucy and I went to Abbeys preschool play.
Its so strange to see her growing up, seeing her be scared or nervous to perform in front of people! She is such a shy little girl!

I think that Lucy will be so different, she is the loudest girl i have ever met!
She started jumping from EVERYTHING!
She has tipped one of our chairs over, and her mouth bled for about 5 minutes, I was nervous she messed up her teeth! And right after she was done crying i heard the chair rocking again!
She jumps off of our table, and falls flat on her face jumps up and does it again!
This little woman is giving me serious anxiety, i can't watch her enough!

She has gotten so much better at words, she says sorry alot, it seems like her biting phase is over for the most part, and now she pinches, and i would rather have her bite me!

I love the learning part of this age, she is so eager to learn everything that she can, but it is so hard cause she gets into EVERYTHING!!

Abbey is loving school, and is getting so much better at tracing letters and coloring in the lines, she is changing so fast! She is starting to try and be the mommy, I hear her saying "Lucy we have to share, if you want to go to the pool you have to be nice to me"
When Lucy was born Abbey never really wanted anything to do with her, she would kiss her every once in a while, but she wasn't really into the whole baby thing! I thought that it would take a long time for them to become friends, and they fight like sisters, i hear them screaming at each other at least once a day. I love that they have each other! I see Abbey starting to watch out for Lucy, and I think it is so great to see their relationship change as Lucy understands more!

Lane has been working his butt of seriously.. I don't think i have seen him for more than 5 hrs at a time! He is loving his job, so i think it makes it really easy for him to be there all the time! We are lucky to be only a couple blocks from the store!

I have been feeling a little bored lately, lane and I decided to try Jillian Michaels new Body Revolution, it has only been a week, but it is fun to do something together! Ask me how much i love it in another month:) We both are trying to get rid of our last 10 lbs! It is easier said than done, i have been trying since October! We have just had so much going on, that I have had a hard time focusing and getting back into weight loss mode.. I can exercise all day long, its the food thing that is proving harder to get back into than i thought it would!

Wish us luck:)

Dinosaurs

They have a history museum at the local college, so we went over to check it out today!! It was fun they have a few dinosaurs that were all found in Wyoming and a few fossils of turtles that were kinda freaky!!

January

Lane had moved to Rock Springs, so it was just me and the girls most of the month!
We had the HUGE task of packing all of our stuff, getting our house rented, taking care of all the loose ends!

I can't believe we survived! Thanks to my mom, my grandma cowley, and Ashley!
New Years day, we spent riding 4 wheelers, some people went sledding in the mountains where I heard there was a little bit of snow! I pretty much stayed right by the fire!
It was fun, and a good way to spend time with some really special people!

We had the rental truck the day before Lane came home, so i could start loading it.. my mom, grandma and sister came over to help me load and clean what we could! By the end of the day EVERYTHING was loaded but our bed and a few other things!
Lane came home and cleaned out his shed, and loaded a few things we couldn't and the last minute clean up and we were off..
After trying to get this stupid Budget truck to start for 2 hours!
Those are the only pictures i took I could kick myself for not taking pictures of our house!
I miss it alot, it was our first house and there are so many sweet memories we made there.
I miss the town, and the people!
I cried as I drove to Rock Springs!
BUT.. I really like it here! It may be desolate, but I have such a great feeling about it here!
The girls are happy with there new house, and so am I!
I actually like the wind when we are inside and have a hard time sleeping when its not blowing now!
Lucy is a pro at the stairs and hasn't fallen down them once!
Our first day at church, we found out that we have a REALLY young ward!
It's so fantastic, seriously there are 90 kids in the primary!
They have 3 sunbeam classes, which means there are more than enough friends for Abbey!
There are about 12-15 kids in nursery and Lucy goes in a couple months so there are going to be lots of kids to play with!
Church is so different when you aren't in Utah!
I love Lucys face in this picture!

Lane and I turned 25 this month, my mom and Ashley came up for my birthday, and It was so fun to have them up here! We went to the rec center here (that is fantastic and a post in and of itself)
Went and ate chinese/sushi and had birthday cake!
We said Goodbye to Ashley and the boys:( They are moving to Australia for 2 years, and we might not see them in 2 years! Which means these 2 cuties will be 3 or 4 years old:(

And these little cuties will be 5 or 6!! WHAT?!!
Kindergarten bound!
I am so excited for 2012! I think it will be a year of change and growth in our family!
We are getting stronger as a family, and I am so thankful for Rock Springs,
it is our turning point, Lane's career is going to explode from all of the great things he is going to accomplish here, and I KNOW that he is going to get his own store from things that happen here!!
